Vivien is currently retired and her previous career was as bursar and clerk to governors in several educational settings.  Now an active rotarian, a volunteer in education workshops, secretary for an alumni association and a trustee of a children's charity in the UK and India.

Jane's two children attended St Hilary's School.

     
Mr Simon Allen MA MEd

Simon read Modern Languages at Selwyn College, Cambridge.  He now teaches Spanish at Charterhouse and is senior tutor, overseeing the academic performance of all pupils in the school as well as the delivery of tutoring by colleagues.  He has also coached football and cricket and has the FA Level 3 coaching award.  His interests include birds, natural history, travel sport and Latin American literature and culture.  Both his children have attended St Hilary's School.



Mr M Farmer BA (Hons) PGCE

Mike is currently the headmaster of St Teresa's Effingham.  Prior to that, he was the principal of Kilgraston School, Perthshire.  Previously, he was the chair of the Scottish Girls' Schools and he has now joined the Boarding School Association Executive to represent the Girls' School Association and will become chair of the BSA in January 2016.

     
Mrs Jackie Nickson MA (Oxon) MRICS MSc

Jackie attended St John's College, Oxford and qualified as a chartered surveyor whilst working in private practice in London.  She has a broad range of experience gained in different sectors of the property industry and currently works for Oxfam GB where she is responsible for managing the real estate aspects of part of their retail portfolio.  She is also a governor at Frensham Heights School where both of her daughters progressed to after attending St Hilary's School.



Mrs V Powell LRAM ARCM DipEd

Veronica is a retired music teacher, teaching general music for seven years in maintained schools and then for 33 years taught piano at Lanesborough School, Guildford.  She is now involved with music societies in the locality and extremely keen on the performing arts, travel and sport.  Her two daughters attended St Hilary's School.



Mr K Ratcliff BSc FCA JP

Ken is a chartered accountant with extensive finance and business experience and recently retired as college accountant at Epsom College, having been employed there since 2004.  He also serves as a magistrate in South West Surrey Adult and Family Courts.

 

Mrs F Reid BA (Hons) History, Sociology, FCA

Fiona is a chartered accountant and a senior manager within Smith and Williamson Ltd, responsible for a wide portfolio of clients including independent schools and other registered charities.



Mrs S Sims BEd (Hons) (Cantab)

Sue trained at Homerton College, Cambridge, securing a certificate in education in 1976 and a bachelor in education degree from Newnham College.  She currently works as head of art at a girls' prep school in Surrey.  Sue has two daughters, enjoys pilates, arts and crafts, visits to antique fairs in search of pieces to renovate, walking and cycling.



Mr F Sullivan MA (Oxon) MSc

Francis has a masters degree from Oxford university and has worked at HSBC's head office in Canary Wharf since 2004.  His two daughters attended St Hilary's School and benefitted enormously from the supportive educational environment.  Both girls won scholarships to Frensham Heights.  He is a keen runner (but would not call himself an athlete...).

     
Mr M Thomas D Arch, RIBA, SBID, FRSA

Malcolm started his career with Powell & Moya and on completion of his studies at Kingston School of Architecture, worked with the then president of the RIBA, Eric Lyons, on a variety of projects.  Malcolm formed MHB Design and this practice later joined up with MEB Design Limited.  Malcolm is an inspecting architect for four Diocese; a member of the Society of British Interior Designers and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  He has been a hotel proprietor in Suffolk and has designed a three dimensional version of the board game snakes and ladders.

     
 

Mrs S Timms

Suzanne is a qualified solicitor and senior lecturer at the University of Law.  Her three children all attended St Hilary's School.
